The permanent exhibition in Kukruse introduces the history of oil shale origin, its mining and processing as well as about the present of the oil industry. Exposition is vivified by the works of some famous here painters. Oil shale mining and industrial landscapes of the past times have been painted on the oil – paintings by R. Sagrits, E. Hallop, U. Michailov ans V. Igonin. There are organized temporary exhibitions and conferences in the exposition hall. The result of one of the conferences was the establishment of Kohtla Mining Park-Museum.
