Master’s program in cultural management
Master level cultural management has been taught at Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre since 2002. The study program is primarily aimed at those, who already have a Bachelor’s degree or practical experience in some sphere of culture and take interest in the management of a cultural institution and the organizational aspects of events.
The purpose of the program is to prepare professional culture managers – entrepreneurs, administrators and adopters of culture policy-related resolutions in order to develop domestic culture industry.
EAMT cultural management study program includes courses in Estonian and European cultural policy, cultural theory, organizational behavior, project, human resources and financial management, legislation, marketing of culture, acquisition of financial resources, cultivation of audience, public relations etc. In addition to theoretical lectures, also practical work at cultural institutions and meetings with heads of cultural organizations and visitations to institutions make up a substantial part of the studies. Defending Master’s Thesis completes the Master’s program.
